Andrea
andreaAndrea is the manager of Jost Van Dyke Scuba & BVI Eco-tours. She also Captain’s boats and from time to time leads Eco-tours. She always has a smile on her face and loves to meet new people. Andrea was born in Santa Fe de Bogotá, Colombia. At the age of 5 her family moved to Caracas, Venezuela. Andrea was raised on the beautiful gold coast of Venezuela called Puerto La Cruz. Known as an international tourist destination, her family started the very first tourist magazine for the region, “SOMOS EL TURISMO.“

Andrea worked in design, ad layout and sales while attending the University. Andrea later worked for the large Italian travel agency, Macite Turismo, and also for the adventure travel company, Jakera Tours. She led large European groups throughout Venezuela presenting Eco-tours and many wonderful adventures. Andrea has lived on a sailboat with her husband, Colin, for many years and has sailed up and down the Caribbean islands doing charters and cruising. She loves nature and especially scuba diving. She refuses to go anywhere with her husband if he has fishing poles. Andrea speaks Spanish, English, and some Italian.

Joseph Gould
Joe Gould is from South Wales, UK. Joe has always had a passion for wildlife, both above and below sea level. He developed an interest in Falconry in his early teens and has trained and flown many different birds of prey. This background led him into studying countryside management and then into diverse working ecological environments. This immersed Joe into British flora and fauna in majestic places such as the Sirhowy Valley Country Park in South Wales, where he was employed as a countryside warden. Later whilst traveling around South East Asia, Joe discovered the real beauty of the underwater world first hand while scuba diving in Thailand’s Andaman Sea. He instantly became hooked, to the extent that he decided on pursuing diving to a professional level, so that he could introduce others to the wonders below.

Joe worked for his PADI rescue diver and Divemaster certification in Australia on the Great Barrier Reef. Since then he has enjoyed the pleasures of diving in some of the South Pacific’s most exotic and remote locations. Joe decided that the Caribbean would be the next destination of choice and dreamed of landing a job on a beautiful, secluded island. When he applied with us, we immediately saw his gentlemanly demeanor and professionalism. Combined with his environmental background, we gave him a job in a hurry! Joe now has the pleasure of combining his passion for diving with his ecological experience by leading dive excursions and guiding eco tours. He literally gets the best of both worlds.

Nemo
Nemo is about one year old and despite her young age she has achieved the position as ‘Chief of Security’ here at Jost Van Dyke Scuba & BVI Eco-tours. Nemo is considered an All-American pure bred “coconut retriever”, hailing from the island of St Thomas. Nemo is without a doubt our hardest working staff member as she never takes a day off and constantly works overtime and holidays with no overtime pay or demands of any kind. In addition to her native tongue, she also understands English and Spanish perfectly. Nemo, like the rest of our staff, loves Tips! She votes ’yes’ to meat, bones, and food scraps and although she won’t ask or beg, she is grateful to any and all handouts from tourists and locals alike! Nemo loves the ocean and the beach and plans on getting certified to dive when she is old enough.

Scott
Scott Bewley is from the South Coast of England. Early in his adult life he was employed as a Captain running a dive vessel for a scuba company. Whilst working as the skipper, he saw the enjoyment customers would get from their diving experiences and this intrigued him as to what might be so interesting below the water! This lead Scott to learn to dive himself so he to could experience the wonders of the aquatic realm. Scott instantly fell in love with the sport and through many courses this finally resulted in Scott becoming a fully qualified Dive Professional.

As a PADI Divemaster, he work both in the UK and Thailand and realized quickly that his true dream would be to become an Open Water Instructor. He followed through with that goal and this led him to the opportunity to open and manage the first PADI Dive Center in Myanmar (Burma) which also included working as a kayak and jungle safari guide! Scott investigated the Caribbean and found the stunningly beautiful island of Jost Van Dyke where he contacted us asked about employment opportunities. We are excited that Scott has joined our team and has bought his own valuable experience with him. Scott is currently a Master Scuba Diver Trainer who holds many different Specialties Scuba Certifications. Scott currently certifies students from Bubblemaker all the way up to Divemaster level!

Faye Macdonald is from Poole in Dorset, England, where she began her diving career. Faye is a certified Scuba Instructor and also a Medic-First Aid Instructor of the highest level. She completed most of her training in England despite a short career break working as a PADI Divemaster and Rescue Diver in several countries in the Far East. She has now decided to swap the chilly waters of South England for something a little warmer and more exotic with us on the island of Jost Van Dyke. Her friendlessness and warmth as well as her enthusiasm make her a valuable staff member. Faye’s first love is fish and lots of them. She is most at home when she is under the water blowing bubbles exploring the crystal depths in search of a new fishy friend.
